British Columbia's ESL Program is built on a strong base of five English Standards, i.e. listening, speaking, reading, writing, and grammar skill.
Specific learning outcomes are established for all five strands at all four ESL levels.

A British Columbia ESL Teacher Training Program is currently being developed that will train teachers specifically for this ESL Program.
